I find chess to be quite fun, even though I'm terrible at it. I played in a chess tournament a few years ago which was awesome.

Perhaps, it would be fun to talk about chess, and yeah

I used to be good, and I did read a few books but it's been so long since I sat at an actual chess board that wasn't on a computer screen that I forget a lot of my strategies and such.

I took a chess class in the fourth grade, and I played chess for a few years after that. I begged my mom for a chess board when I was in sixth grade. Over the years, I forgot what each piece did and here I am, not knowing how to play chess. The only move I remember is the knight has to move in an L shape or something.

You had a chess class in fourth grade Lucky!! i didn't learn to play until grade 7, when we had a chess club. I played in a tournament when I was good. I kind of forgot my strategies and I'm not that good anymore. Maybe we should play on Braingle sometime

and yes, the knight does move in a L shape and he is the only piece that can jump over other pieces.

Yep it was an advanced learning class and one week we learned chess. Yeah I'll relearn chess somehow and then we could play on Braingle. That would be fun.

Oh yeah I remembered *dances*

Sounds good, it will be fun. The braingle chess program annoys me a bit, when your the color at the top of the screen, it's hard to play.

I played in a chess club for two years, in the first year. I finished fourth in our little school tournament which was great

Next year, we didn't do the tournament because people lost interest.

People lost interest in playing chess, they'd found other things to do and the club wasn't a lot of fun people stopped coming and we ended up just doing other things. I beat two of my teachers though

Bishop's move diagonally,
Knights = L
Pawn's only move up
rooks = move in straight lines as much as they want
queens = move in as many squares any direction they want.
pawn's jump diagonally.

Almost beat the teacher? I went to a chess club before and I beat both teachers Teachers usually go easy, until you tick them off. I was good so they never went well on me

Chess computer games are so hard, I have a bunch of them and the easy level is so hard

I know what you mean, computer ones are only for if you are REALLY good at chess, but sometimes they still make really stupid moves

Yes sometimes they do but it ain't often. I had this computer chess game that would talk and say where it wanted to move and it was so good. It beat me everytime but level 1 was always harder than level 2.
